 OUR MINISTRY:

Our ministry goal is simple, “To reach the lost with the gospel of Jesus Christ by any means necessary." How can there be any other goal for an evangelistic heart?

RTMI is dedicated to this goal. We have been given the highest honor of any ministry and that is to preach the gospel. When the believer submits him/her self to this calling they suddenly will find themselves looking at the lost around them with different eyes.

"I had spent many years just going through the motion. Then I was challenged to do something, pray to have the eyes of Christ. When I was willing to do this, I suddenly found myself weeping as I looked at the people around me. I couldn't help myself. I began to see the people of this world as Christ saw them, lost and without hope. 'Like sheep without a shepherd.' I had to do something. I was compelled."

RTMI has had this vision since then. We will go wherever Christ opens a door, talk to whomever Christ allows, and ask nothing in return. We will seek to only give glory to Him and Him alone. We will be submitted to this call in all we do or say.

OPPORTUNITIES:

Since the beginning, RTMI has used every resource available. We have used both music and speaking to convey our heart to the church. But lately God has been bringing across our path other opportunities that we would have never expected.

"In the past ten years we have been allowed to meet some of the more unusual people in our world. The subcultures of our present society have become an open door that we never would have planned for. From the Goth culture to the Comic book fan, from the geek to the jock, God has allowed us to step into their world with the gospel of Jesus Christ."

Subcultures are often forgotten by the church due to preconceived ideas or just prejudice. Sadly the people of these subcultures are the victims. They are forgotten and abandoned by the church, left on the roadside for the vultures. RTMI is not afraid to reach these with the truth of scripture.

Many in these worlds are hurt and bitter. They don't understand that they are loved by God. They have come from broken homes and often suffer with drug addiction or dark pasts. But when they find that Christ loves them, they become powerful witnesses to their world.

"We are the light of the world. We need to step into the darkness, not run away from it. The lost are trapped in their darkness and without any hope. We will go into that darkness and love them, no matter what they look like or how they live."

The thing is that the opportunities are endless for ministry in this world. The people are hungry for someone to share truth with them. RTMI has chosen to use all the gifts available to them.

Life experiences are also another area that has grown into a ministry field. Randy battled obesity for many years of his life and has overcome through prayer, brokenness and hard work. He has taken this life experience and written a full weight loss program. This program (Reality Weight Loss Program) is a full person approach to weight loss and recovery. It brings the whole person (body, mind, spirit) into the weight loss.

“I spent many years trying various methods and programs to overcome my weight loss. But it was at the place that I understood that my battle was not a physical battle only but a spiritual battle. I had to understand that my obesity was the result of sin and that was the first step to winning. I could not overcome the weight in my life without confessing the sin in my life.”

Randy has also brought in his love for writing dramas and musicals into the ministry. The music he has written over the years has grown into full stories of redemption, adventure, conflict and restoration. The opportunity to perform, produce and develop these stories in the local area has been given and soon there will be TEAR DROP Productions being done in the Heber Springs area.

"I have enjoyed telling my stories through song, but have always felt that there was more to say. The first time I really saw this was in my song "The Craftsmans Story". This song grew into a full Easter Production that really shook up my church in Missouri. This first experience stirred up the desire to tell more stories through my music and eventually on stage."

HOW CAN YOU BE A REALITY CHRISTIAN?

What defines REALITY CHRISTIANITY? Simply put, it is a call that was birthed in the heart of Randy six years ago. He had just gone through the hardest time in his life and found himself in Florida, homeless, unemployed and trying to take care of his teenage son. They slept in their car. Ate day old donuts and tried to stay warm. They slept in the parking lot of their home church and had no place to wash-up, or do laundry. They were hurting both physically and spiritually.

The hardest part of this whole experience was knowing the scripture and knowing the heart of God, yet going through this hardship. How do you deal with the conflict in your mind? How do you deal with the knowledge of the scripture telling you that God will take care of you, yet seeing your son hungry?

One night after church, Randy had asked his pastor if there was some way that the church could maybe help. The pastor struggled with what to do and said that they would not be able to help that night. It was the last straw. Randy was angry and hurt. Randy stood there and just boiled. A man stepped up and held out his hand, “How are things going brother?”

“I looked at this guy and wanted to just blow a gasket. My mind raced and shouted obscenities and I never used those words. Then I spoke, ‘Do you really want to know how things are going? Really? Or are you just saying this to make yourself feel better? Because if you want to know I’ll tell you.’ The man looked honestly at me and said, ‘yes I want to know.’

‘Okay,’ I said, ‘Well, I’m living in my car and haven’t had any medicine for my diabetes or high blood pressure in weeks. I have no food, no water and no place to even wash my clothes. I haven’t eaten in days and my meals, when I do are day old donuts. I haven’t had a bath in a couple of weeks and to be honest, I’m pissed off at the church, pissed off at the world and pissed off at God. You want to know how things are going. Well things are going to hell.’

The man smiled at me and put his hand on my shoulder and said, ‘I’d feel the same way as you if I were going through this stuff. Wanna go to the gas station and get a hot dog and coke?”

Randy couldn’t believe what he had said and here was a man that didn’t suddenly look at him in shock or criticize him for his lack of faith. He couldn’t help by paying a month’s rent at some place or buying him a week’s worth of food. But he could buy a hotdog and drink for him and his son.

This man was real. He didn’t give some empty platitude of, “Well brother, just trust God and He will bring you through this time.” The body of Christ needs to stop throwing around empty words and start being real. We need to bring the gospel of Jesus Christ into the life of the average person on the street.

Randy has spent the past few months developing a ministry program that focuses on being real. It is a Bible study that looks at the early church and how they were real in their community and ministry field.

Acts 2:42-47 New International Version (NIV)

The Fellowship of the Believers

42 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 43 Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. 44 All the believers were together and had everything in common. 45 They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. 46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

“I feel that this is the heart cry of the Holy Spirit in these last days. The world has seen enough empty hand-outs, hollow promises, and religious excuses. It is time that we are the hands of Christ. It is time that we do something for the hurting, homeless, and broken hearted.”

 Tear Drop Publications:

As a writer, Randy Simmons has a soft place for the struggling author. He understands that there are those stories or truths that you just have to get down on paper. So he has also expanded the RTMI umbrella to include a publishing company.

"I feel that there are genres that the Christian author should be allowed to venture into. I understand that this will be very controversial but I have included genres such as horror and action/adventure.

I understand that there will be those out there that do not feel that a Christian can writer horror but I feel they are wrong. Who better to speak about how to overcome even the worst obstacles but the Christian author?"

Starting with his two new horror series Randy has kicked off the first of the Tear Drop Publications books. With these fiction novels will be a collection of teaching materials that will include titles like "Mountain Moving Faith", and the anonymous biography "I Pastorious Jeuvenous".

There will also be a series of musicals, dramatic works and song books. Randy also is beginning work on a line of graphic novels and comic books that will hit the shelves in the next year.

These will contain some of the characters from his Dark Realm series and the Sandman series. He is also going to create a new series based around the Alias Smith character.

"There is a whole world of possibilities out there it is time for the church to tap into it."

Randy has an online location where you can purchase each of these books and they will be shipped directly to you. Or you can also order them through this website and we will then get them to you.

If you are a struggling Christian author who has a completed manuscript that you would like to see published, you can contact us and we will read through your work and give our opinion.
